Shakespeare Garden

Shakespeare mentioned almost 200 trees, plants, and wildflowers in his works, and ?in this lovely, Victorian-style garden, only those species that appear in his plays and poetry have been planted. Plantings, grouped according to color, texture, and blooming season, may be seen in all their beauty continuously from spring through fall. The Swedish Cottage, located at the west entrance of the garden, is a popular children’s Marionette theater. The cottage was built in Sweden and shipped to the US for display in 1876 Centennial Exposition in Philadelphia. It is a replica of 19th century Swedish country schoolhouse.
