TriBeCa

Until the early 1960's, this is the place for warehouses of butter, cheese and eggs, which were traded at the New York trade exchange. The name Tribeca came from abbreviation of "Triangle Below Canal," which was used by developers of this area in 1970's. There are fashionable boutiques, restaurants and art galleries along the old city, and also known for the venue of Tribeca Film Festival, which started in 2002.
