City Hall / Municipal Building

City Hall was built in 1812 in typical French Renaissance architectural design. One of the attractions of sightseeing in Manhattan is the variety of architecture. New York City has played a role in the immigration history of the country, and one can see multi-ethnic culture reflected in building designs around the city. The Woolworth Building, a typical gothic design is located across the street from City Hall.
