Columbus Circle

Broadway at 59th Street
Located just southwest of Central Park, its name comes from a marble statue of Christopher Columbus that stands at the center of the circle. At the entrance to the park is a memorial dedicated to the 260 men who lost their lives when the battleship Maine was destroyed in Havana Harbor in 1894. The park entrance is also famous as the way to the New York Marathon's finish line.
